About This Pipe
While this pipe has a myriad of stylistic virtues, I am absolutely captivated by the bold execution of the shank, and its subsequent interplay with that beautiful bowl. Capped with a superb, hand cut bit with boxwood inlay, the thick half-moon shank prows well into the bowl on top, and the broad base continues its travel all the way to the rim. The result is a lovely vase like bowl that seems to be cradled within the protection of the shank. With this piece, Brad has achieved a sense of timeless beauty, an all-too-rare commodity.
