About This Pipe
Taking inspiration from the most ancient of reptiles, Savinelli modernizes their novel Alligator series by offering a selection of colors, this one a tasteful shade of dark red. The flashy acrylic stem is prevalent among Italian pipemakers, this one a particularly eye-catching transparent amber with delicate pale gold wisps that gleam in the light. It seems fitting when paired with the smooth/rusticated alligator-hide finish, invoking fantastical images of dangerous journeys down the Nile River, with sunlight piercing the murky deep, and reflecting off of multicolored scales.
