About This Cigar
The act of apostasy defines an event wherein one refuses to follow or obey the tenets of a faith or religious organization, the commission of which then makes one an apostate. Apostate Cigars was founded in 2021 by Kendrick Woolstenhulme and Brandon Overson, both former members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, who named their company in reference to the Mormon stricture of abstaining from tobacco. Founded in rebellion, Apostate Cigars aims to blend the traditional with the unorthodox, creating unique cigars that are as rich with flavor as they are with story.
The Endowment is named in reference to the process of Endowment in the Mormon faith, defining a set of rites and rituals to prepare one to progress into the afterlife, or to ready them for their ascent to a literal heavenly kingdom. Blend-wise, the Endowment features an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed Desflorado wrapper, a Connecticut Broadleaf binder, and fillers from the United States, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. A rich, complex, and satisfying cigar, the Endowment offers a varied array of tasting notes and flavor transitions to appreciate. This particular cigar is part of the Eight Witnesses subseries, a line containing all eight of Apostate's blends in a single, 4.5 x 44 Petit Corona vitola. Referring to one of the groups of witnesses who had supposedly seen the Golden Plates fundamental to the LDS faith, the cigars in this line are excellent for anyone wanting to sample Apostate's blends in a consistent, shorter-smoking format.
