About This Cigar
Though officially established in 1997, Casdagli boasts a reputation that stretches as far back as the 1800s, when the Casdagli family began trading in agricultural goods. Over the following century, the Casdagli family established itself as a mercantile dynasty, dealing in luxury commodities, grain, cotton, tobacco, and eventually, Cuban cigars. Today, the Casdagli brand specializes in premium cigars that honor the values of the original Casdagli family: luxury, elegance, and tradition.
The Basilica line honors the great patriarch of the Casdagli family, Emmanuel Casdagli, and features his likeness on the bands of the cigars. This line was inspired by Casdagli Cigars' Saudi Arabian clients in search of a pairing better suited for their particular teas and cuisine. The flared foot on Basilica cigars is Casdagli's answer: The design gently leads into the full-bodied flavors emitted by the line's rich binder leaves, making these cigars perfect for an after dinner smoke.
A shorter cousin of the Basilica C No. 1, the Basilica C No. 3 features a dark Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. This blend shares the same tartness as the Basilica No. 1, and offers notes of chocolate, espresso, pepper, and oak. Complex and well-balanced, it's available in a 4" x 50 vitola.
