About This Cigar

Dunbarton's Sobremesa translates to "over the table" from Spanish and refers to the Latino tradition of leisurely conversing around the table after a meal. In the words of the Nicaraguan brand's founder, Steve Saka (former president and CEO of Drew Estate), sobremesa "is the experience of lingering casually with family and friends in conversation, relaxing, drinking, smoking, and enjoying each other's company." Tapa Negra utilizes the same blend as the Sobramesa Brûlée line, featuring an Ecuadorian Connecticut shade G2BW wrapper covering a Mexican Matacapan negro de temporal binder, and Nicaraguan fillers of Condega C-SG, Pueblo Nuevo criollo, La Joya Estelí C-98 and ASP Estelí hybrid ligero. However, the cap of the cigar features a Nicaraguan sun-grown leaf that provides an additional bit of spice to experience in your smoke. They are made at Fábrica de Tabacos Joya de Nicaragua S.A. Experience it here in a Toro, it is also available in a Corona Gorda vitola. "What I love about this technique is how it affects the smoking experience – the cigar's smoke remains creamy and smooth, but the spicy Nicaraguan Sun-Grown capa being in contact with your palate adds great pepper notes, but allows the cigar to remain a very relaxing mild smoking experience." - Steve Saka, founder of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust.
