Jochy Blanco is a fourth generation manufacturer and tobacco grower and his family's factory - Tabacalera Palma - was one of the first to be established in the Dominican Republic in 1936. It's located in Tamboril, which many consider to be the cigar capital of the world. La Galera is their flagship brand that Blanco launched in 2016.

La Instructora acts as a playground for Jochy to explore rare tobaccos, long fermentation, and his creativity in creating complex cigars. The Box-Pressed Line is "flavor sharpened to its most expressive form," boasting a dark Brazilian Cubra wrapper with Dominican Piloto binder, as well as fillers of Dominican Piloto Cubano and Criollo 98 tobaccos.
