Smokingpipes Roasts is our private house line of whole bean coffees. We set out to find the highest-quality coffees we could and partner with roasters we know and trust to bring each one to life. Each coffee is selected with the same attention to quality that we bring to everything we do, from carefully sourced beans to thoughtful roasting that highlights what makes each one unique. As the line grows, we'll continue working with our favorite roasters to bring new coffees to Smokingpipes that you won't find anywhere else.

This roast was developed and selected by our team in collaboration with Methodical, with careful consideration given to every part of the process. The selection process included blind tastings of numerous coffees, allowing the team to compare different origins, processing methods, and flavor profiles before settling on the final product.

Slow Sown is a naturally processed, single-origin Colombian coffee made from Castillo and Colombia varieties. The name pays tribute to the quiet planting of coffee that helped transform Colombia into one of the world's great coffee-growing nations. In the 1830s, Colombian farmers were hesitant to plant coffee because the trees could take years to produce their first harvest. Father Francisco Romero, a local priest, encouraged people to plant and tend a few coffee trees of their own, and the practice took root, gradually spreading from town to town. Today, Slow Sown honors that history with an exceptionally complex Colombian coffee that offers remarkable depth and showcases the distinguishing character of the natural process. It's a rare find that won't disappoint coffee enthusiasts.
