little sweetness and depth. There's a very assertive cinnamon note, which is pleasant combined with the bourbon. The Orientals aren't verdant or herbal; the VA is woody and bready; the perique is hardly noticeable but possessed a little tartness. The Burley was on the lighter spectrum and lacked that molasses/brown sugar familiarity. The latakia is good - which the bourbon and cinnamon supports and compliments. It's basically a smooth, strong bourbon, cinnamon and latakia flavor. I love the heavy bourbon and cinnamon flavor, and the room note reminds me of one of the old civil war homes we visit each fall. I like this. One of the better ones that I could smoke each and every day from here on out. Perhaps even one of my favorites.
Depending on what you want or expect, this may be just the ticket; a woody campfire steeped in spiced bourbon with very little sweetness. Nicotine is 2 to 2.5 out of 5. Read Less

A very complex note with solid english mixture aroma. Dare not to say it's world-wide popular, but for those into it, this tin is definitely the one. A product that needs time and personality to co-understand.

th is medium and nic is mild. Flavoring is mild, with notes of sweet Burbon. Sweet Burbon moves to the background within the first 1/4 and becomes sporadic afterwards. Taste is medium and mostly consistent, with notes of smoky, sweet bourbon, spices, floral, peaty vegetation, burnt toast, wood, herbal incense, sour hay, earth, lemon grass, leather, dried dark fruit, orange peel/zest, a tangy citrus background note, and a peppery retro. Latakia is leading with Burley, Flavoring, Oriental/Turkish, Perique and Virginia supporting. Room note is tolerable to strong and aftertaste is good. Read Less

doesn't have room for such sweeteners. The remaining 35% is Virginia, some burley, and a bit of Perique.
But aromatic it is. Beautifully, lushly so. Its sweetening agent is the bourbon cask it was stored in, which made it a bit moist, uniformly dark, and fully loaded with a wonderful, boozy smell.
This is a nightcap smoke, and an occasional one at that. It doesn't taste like a lat-bomb, despite the high proportion. This blend achieves something different -- a heady, nice-smelling, deeply flavored "dram."
I visited Sutliff's factory in Richmond, Va., more than a year ago, and the tour guide showed us a run of this and commented on it. "This will be something special," he said. He was right. Read Less

hen I read the description of Lord Morgan and saw it had 65 % Latakia, AND it was a barrel aged Sutliff…….well, I just had to try it. After just my first bowl I can say without hesitation it is a masterful blend. Extremely well balance…….the Latakia is NOT a Latakia bomb, it is very mildly sweet, but not at all like average aromatics. Burns very well and stays lit, in spite of other comments I read about it being a “wet” tobacco. If you love English blends, you’ll probably love this one! Read Less
