Not Really A Match Blend

I was looking for a more cost-efficient match for EMP so I decided to try this. While it is a very good blend, it is not even close to EMP. I would classify this as an aromatic with English qualities as there is a vanilla casing that really drives the bus. I like EMP and decided to give this a try as a more cost efficient alternative. I was a little apprehensive when I first opened the tobacco when I was greeted by a strong sickly sweet odor; all I could think was that I had been sent an aromatic by mistake. I put it in a mason jar to mellow out for a few days and upon returning to it I was somewhat pleased that the overpowering sweet chemical smell had somewhat diminished. I decided to give it a try which I regret. While the flavor itself is pleasant, it doesn't remind me at all of EMP. Not only that, I suffered very immediate tongue bite, which has never happened to me before. I smoked about half of a bowl before deciding I was better off dumping the contents from my pipe. I have smoked a few aromatics here and there but have never had this sudden and terrible tongue bite. Very unexpected. Will not attempt to purchase or smoke again....Read More

Not a match for EMP but good in a different way

I agree with the reviews that this is not a match for EMP. It is sweeter and less smokey. To me, this is an improvement on Eastfarthing - replacing the burleys with orientals and backing off of the topping a little.

Previously my favorite English blend was Skiff Mixture. Ran into issue of not being able to get it, so I wanted to try EMP and the price vs this for a couple of oz was big enough I figured I would try this. Don’t get me wrong. It has a great flavor but it definitely is not what I would consider an English. There is a casing added somewhere in there, too much of a vanilla/ toasted marshmallow flavor not to be. Also the shag cut is a little more coarse that I prefer. Sometimes I feel like a get just a hint of an aftertaste of chemical that makes me think there is a good bit of PG added. Overall not terrible/ not outstanding....Read More

I hate to write a negative review. But this tobacco is the worst I’ve ever tried to smoke. I smoke Early Morning Pipe every morning on my way to work. I was hoping I could try this sutliff blend so I could get it in bulk. But it taste like you smoking house hold cleaners. I can’t believe a company let this get into the public cause it’s very bad . I buy sutliff products but want be buying this anymore it’s going into the trash unless someone wants to give it a try....Read More
