About This Pipe Tobacco

Grown in St. James Parish, Louisiana, the only place where it's made, Perique is a unique tobacco. Once harvested, it's compressed, heated, and fermented, giving it its distinctive peppery flavor. Sutliff's TS-20 Louisiana Perique is in ribbon cut form, perfect for use as a blending component and can be smoked straight if desired.

I somehow hate the smell. Pungent! But it tastes so good. Never not that strong so enjoy them without worrying of getting nicotine induced. And thank you Sutliff for that free 5' length of 4mm hemp rope in my 8oz bulk, how I wish I could smoke it

Many think that perique is too strong to smoke straight. I dissagree, just take it easy and enjoy or smoke in a shallow pipe, I like the strength and the flavor

Add a little or a lot to most any varietal, especially VA, and this condimental is delightful. It's nice to keep some on hand for those special times when you want a smooth and tasty, long lasting smoke. It smells like wet Chuck Taylor sneakers.

This stuff is top notch. Truffly, musky, spicy, fruity, umami. Everything you want. The *only* way to get better Perique is to buy it in whole leaf form, straight out of the barrel, from St. James Parish. I have several pounds of whole leaf Perique aging in my cellar like the finest of wines, waiting for blending. While it ages to mature perfection, I have Sutliff TS-20 and some long-cut and granulated Perique from C&D with which to develop my home-blend lineup. All around five stars. I usually like the tobacco types by themselves, not a lot of brands tend to sell them like that, and this is one of my favorite types, the darker flue cured is another but it lacks in nicotine strength, but not this, it is really strong which is how I like it. and it's really good quality.
