I have smoked almost an entire can of this now. There is a subtle sweetness at first light; however, the Perique and Kentucky take over from there and it's a well-balanced spicy smoke from there with a good smokiness. The taste is light to the tongue though and not overbearing. A perfect blend for an everyday smoke. I smoke Englishes and other non-aromatics mostly and this is one of my favorites. So I thought for sure I had my top 5 blends of 2025 decided on until c&d dropped this bad boy right at the end of the year and boy I'm glad they did. When I cracked it open I was greeted with an aroma of maple, and barbecue-y sweetness, almost like an aromatic. Not what I expected at all. After lighting up that sweetness and maple take a backseat to the smokey, barbecue notes, with even bits of glazed strip of bacon? Delightful!
