Tried almost every Gawith, Gawith Hoggarth blend available in the US currently and Coni (other 2 are dark flake aro & bosun) is easily one of my favorites, great stuff! 5 STARS 🔥

t to see what the Lakeland buzz was about. I figured that I don't care for it but regardless, this is an excellent tobacco and I can understand how people would enjoy it based on the components. If you like Lakelands, give this a try. If you haven't tried them yet, then give this a go. The florals weren't super strong but present enough to let you know they are there....Read More

a bit of sugar. Smoke slowly and carefully. My only real gripe is that the flakes do not burn very easily. They tend to keep their shape in the bowl, even if you rub them out before packing. This makes it hard to keep lit, with the constant tamping, poking, repacking, relighting, etc. Minus half a star. However, I admit this is at least in part due to user error. Flakes have never been my forte....Read More

It's smooth as butter but the taste is full. I like to use one of my Savinelli's with a 6mm charcoal filter. I give this about 45 minutes dry time and rub it out very well. Pack the pipe a little tight, get it going and let it smolder....Read More

e. I have a pipe dedicated just to this blend and I love smoking other blends though it because of the flavor the ghost imparts. I would like to see other companies try to create their own Lakeland....Read More

I don't detect the typical Lakeland essence in this one, might just be the batch I got. It's a very enjoyable and stout blend with a nice floral sweetness

er over a few weeks I sealed the jar and hid it. Fantastic tasting stuff, but I like to spend 45 minutes to an hour with a pipe, and I just can't do that with this stuff.
Part of any job is having the right tools. I ordered a Dutch Gouda/Caribbean Pirate clay pipe, 7" length with a thimble-sized bowl. Gave up trying to keep it lit, just took tiny sips and relit when needed. Took around 35 minutes to finish the bowl and had to sit down for the last 10. Think I've figured out how to smoke this stuff. Taste is so good it makes me want to rush it, and it requires more respect than that. So again, not a weenie, willing to fight anyone who says otherwise- just let me recover from this last bowl first....Read More

This blend has changed

s quite similar to the new version of SG 1792 flake. Coniston used to be a 5 star smoke, now I'm dropping it to 3.5 because it lost it's initial appeal, but it's still quality tobacco and someone will surely love it as it is. I can't really blame G&H for making changes to the blend because the demand for their tobaccos has skyrocketed.
Update - I kept returining to it, hoping it would grow on me but it became completely bland after few months of cellaring. 2 stars. GH please return to your old ways!...Read More

tes of Floral Essences and Other/Misc. I detected tonquin/lakeland, and there was definitely an added sweet. Both dropped to the background with in the first 1/4, with the sweet hanging out a little longer than the tonquin/lakeland. Taste is medium to full and mostly consistent, with notes of tonquin/lakeland, spices, mildly smoky, wood, sugar, floral, tangy dark fruit, peaty vegetation, cocoa, molasses, savory, bread, orange peel/zest, earth, slight spicy, a sweet nutty and grassy background note, and a very peppery retro. Virginia is leading with Dark Fired and Burley supporting. Room note is tolerable, and aftertaste is great....Read More
