My first encounter with this blend was through the kindness of a fellow enthusiast who included some decade-old CCD as a sample. My initial reaction to it was that it was a little reminiscent of Newminster Superior Round Slices. But this one’s a straight Virginia. So it lacks the spicy Kentucky of SRS. But it’s a more flavorful smoke anyway. To me, it’s akin to smoking a bowl full of cashews. Savory with a hint of sweet. Buttery. Decadent. I started on this after letting it out of its corset and garters in a Mason jar for about a week. Despite it's rough cut, it loads easily, packs well, and lights up the first time and stays lit. It has a robust, rugged, yet luxurious taste to it, and produces a heady, voluptuous plume of smoke. Think of Anita Ekberg in "La Dolce Vita." Gawith and Hoggarth have never really disappointed in a blend. They might not all be fore you but please, try them out and you’ll find one you’ll want to marry. Curly Cut is a treat over and over, with a pleasant mild aroma but not fragrant or flowery.

I really, really like this tobacco. The broken coins that have been cut from the rope make me want to chew them, and one could if he so chooses. No Perique here, just malty, hay like bread dough Virginia. Dry this tobacco out some over night and you're ready to go.
