ittle sweetness and the only exception would be the dark burley; it's more of an earthy/walnut flavor that replaces that toasted oat nuance, but I like it and it goes well with the bready Red VA. Dark burley is almost fermented to compost, so expect a strong earthiness and that dry/tannic/astringent kind of walnut flavor. You won't have any molasses or anise, which so many of the older - over the counter blends had... this is a pure tasting leaf. For the price you can't go wrong... $20/lb is a great deal on an everyday/all-day traditional mixture. Nicotine is 3.5 out of 5, so expect quite a hit on a very traditional and less expensive mixture. Read Less

No reviews of the aroma from the wife yet.
Being an old pipe smoker I don't detect any harshness. My first smoke of this tobacco was in a Nording Sailor, brand new out of the bag.
I see this possibly becoming my go to tobacco. It's price doesn't hurt this prospect, or the wallet.

eeded my expectations, especially taking into account its fairly low price. Surely one of the best price/quality combination on the market.
If you like Virginia and Burley blends with good nic hit - order a couple ounces with no doubts. Currently such blends are my favourites for everyday all day smoke, so I am a bit biased here. But for sure this blend contains quality tobaccos with natural taste and serve well for smoking straight on as well as for blending.
I think Burley is dominating here, but mostly in strengh and nicotine rather than the taste. If you like Virginia dominating blends, just add a pinch of it to this blend, and you'll get what you want. I don't have particular preferences: sometimes I want Burley a bit forward, sometimes Virginia, sometimes balanced - with this blend you can easily play however you prefer.
It's simple, but complex at the same time, you can smoke it without thinking, but can also find many nuances if you decide to concentrate on it. Just really great blend. Read Less

o, you can expect to be improved about these bothers by moistening this tobacco and slowly smoking pipes. I think this tobacco is suitable for Cob and RYO. ing more of this - probably a pound of it at least. It is a fine everyday all-day smoke on its own. I have also had good success mixing it with Perique and Latakia - put about 10-15% of the volume of those condimental tobaccos in with the LC Natural Burley and Virginia and it is very good change of pace. I would encourage burley lovers to give it a go and others who want to extend more expensive burley blends - try it out. Read Less
