About This Pipe

Stanwell's "183" bent Egg is a shape that's rarely seen on the estate market but it's quite a charming design from the historic marque. It was originally designed by Anne Julie, a legendary artisan pipe maker who mentored Tom Eltang back in the 1970s and continues carving elegant, artful pipes to this day. The shank's paneled sides seamlessly blend with the bowl's shaping, accentuating the bowl's forward-urging momentum and making the piece's gestural stance even more impressive. Seen here as part of the Brass Band series, it wears, as expected, twin brass accent rings at the shank end, complementing the stummel's traditional, chestnut stain.
