Handcrafted by Danish artisan Johannes Hoffmann, this Tomato is true to its Danish origins with its supple curves and soft demeanor. Rising from a lifted heel, the bowl's walls expand outward before they taper dramatically to the rim, creating a robust shape that contours nicely to the hand. The balance of this piece sits at the transition and because of the weight distribution, it can sit alone without the aid of a pipe stand. The low-slung shank tapers before it reaches an amber-hued, translucent ferrule of acrylic that lifts to a slightly bent vulcanite stem. The stummel wears a light walnut stain that highlights vertical grain along the bowl and swirls of birdseye along its underside.
