About This Pipe

The jury's still out on whether Cortinas were made by Bari or by Georg Jensen over half a century ago, but what's certain is that this bent Dublin under their nomenclature is an excellent piece of pipe making. The sandblast does a good job of accentuating the flame grain and birdseye of the bowl, bringing it forward to be easily felt through the dark stain. Though somewhat squat in height — just over an inch and a third — the bowl is strong and feels quite natural to the touch. The upturned shank quickly transitions to a funnel-shaped accent of horn that gives the pipe a very organic look and feel, and the bent saddle stem finishes the silhouette with a sinuous curve.
