English Estates: Charatan's Make Special Acorn (2) (pre-1960) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-31742
A vintage piece from Charatan, this Acorn comes to us from before 1960 and is a good example of the English marque's novel shaping style. The Acorn itself is a bit of a rare shape for Anglo-French companies to produce, though Charatan has had different iterations of it on its shape chart for decades, even before it was popularized by the Danish school. This particular pipe showcases a robust bowl with a taper to the rim marked by a wrapping ridgeline, the subtle curve of the shank and stem looking quite demure in comparison, said stem's jet-black vulcanite complimenting the warm mahogany stain of the stummel.-John McElheny
