About This Pipe
Root Briar pipes are among Dunhill's most prestigious offerings, and the most exceptional examples are graded further with the Dead Root designation. Today, Dead Root pipes are graded with one to six stars, but decades ago, the English marque utilized letters. This F-grade Dead Root from 1971, then, corresponds to today's six-star Dead Roots, making it one of Dunhill's highest graded pipes. Fashioned in Zulu form, the profile is sleek and aerodynamic, with a tall, flaring bowl covered in stunning flame grain. This is a piece for the avid White Spot collector.
The highest honor for a Dunhill pipe is to receive the prestigious Root Briar appellation. Root Briars have been coveted by pipe smokers ever since they first debuted in 1931, due to the fact that each pipe must boast briar completely free of even the most minor of blemishes. Dunhill has the strictest of standards and expectations for quality with all of their pipes, and so any block of briar that comes to bear the Root Briar stamp must indeed be superlative.
