About This Pipe

The name "Aldo Velani" is fictional (at least insofar as no one by that name makes Aldo Velani pipes) but the name Cesare Barontini is very, very real, and Aldo Velani pipes are his creation out of the city of Livorno, west of Florence on Tuscany's Ligurian coast. This offering from Cesare and Aldo is a bent Dublin with a rusticated finish that seems to simulate the pattern of a cobblestoned street on the bowl, with close, mostly elliptical shapes covering the walls and heel. The touch they provide is comforting, the walls of the bowl are strong to accommodate long smoking sessions, and the translucent acrylic stem offers a playful touch to a bright, playful pipe.
