Before he would go on to establish Ser Jacopo in 1982, Giancarlo Guidi founded the Mastro de Paja workshop ten years prior. Spadoni Giannino worked alongside Guidi for several years at Mastro de Paja before they each went their separate ways and the ownership of the workshop changed hands. Despite this change, Mastro de Paja remains in Pesaro, Italy to this day, where all the pipes are still handmade. Paying homage to the history of the region, all Mastro de Paja pipes follow the Pesaro design style, often showcasing fluid and playful silhouettes that range from singular renditions of classic shapes to distinctive designs all their own, all graded using sun stamps.
