About This Pipe
Federico Becker represents the third generation of his family turning pipes, following in the footsteps of grandfather Fritz and father Paolo, who founded the Becker workshop together in 1974. The self-titled brand Federico carries on today is known for organic renditions of classic shapes, most commonly featuring sharp, angular heels.
This Bulldog is no exception, fronted by a 2.13-inch-deep bowl that is quite steep both above and below the beadlines and meets the heel at a sharp, obtuse angle. The well-defined line work continues on the short, diamond-shaped shank, behind which a saddle stem of swirling black-and-brown vulcanite finishes the piece. In addition to the generous depth of the bowl, this piece has a substantial heft and length, making it particularly attractive to fans of large pipes.
