Meerschaum Giant Carved Lion & Deer (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

"WOW!!" is right! Perhaps my earliest exposure to highly elaborate meerschaum art, came from some photos contained in Carl Ehwa's towering classic; The Book of Pipes & Tobacco, and "impressed" hardly covered my reaction. While this amazing piece might not have the daunting complexity of a rendering of Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo, it is certainly one of the larger (and well done) meerschaum sculptures that I have personally handled. Unsmoked, and still in the original presentation box, this pipe might well present the coloring challenge of a lifetime, a feat almost worthy of inclusion in the labors of Hercules. But, just imagine the transcendent beauty of the right results!
