About This Pipe

Originally a line of pipes from Kauffman Bros. & Bondy (KB&B), the Kaywoodie name became synonymous with quality and affordability, eventually becoming a full-fledged brand of its own. Kaywoodie pipes first hit the market in 1919 and saw great success, leading KB&B to open facilities in New York, New Jersey, and London. Over the next decade, they would introduce the Drinkless line, which originally featured push-style stems and aluminum tubes before eventually graduating to synchro-stems with threaded mouthpieces. With every change to the Drinkless line, the goal was the same: offering customers the coolest, driest smoke possible. In 1936, KB&B introduced The Kaywoodie Company as a subsidiary, and in 1938, a Kaywoodie office opened its doors in London in response to increasing global demand. In 1955, The Kaywoodie Company and other KB&B subsidiaries were acquired by S.M. Frank & Co., the "oldest pipe house in America." Today, the brand is owned and operated by Nathan Davis, who trained under the previous owner, Bill Feuerbach. Davis has done a tremendous job of carrying on the Kaywoodie legacy, producing quality pipes at an affordable price.
