Sandblasted 'Walking Stick' Poker (with Case) Tobacco Pipe

With a background in the automotive industry, Taiwan-based artisan Jerry Zenn utilizes his 25 years of mechanical expertise to craft well-engineered, detail-oriented pieces with superb smoking properties. Zenn's style is marked by organic shaping and beautiful accents, and this inventive Poker design speaks to his unique, thoughtful approach.

Though we have now had a couple of these "walking stick" Pokers make their way to us at Smokingpipes, they never fail to impress with their dual-purpose design and excellent functionality. Presented in a padded, impact-resistant metal case, this striking design comes with a pair of threaded extensions that facilitate the transformation into a fully functional walking stick or cane. The stummel of the pipe tops off the extensions once connected, while a wide, metallic accent reinforces the structure of the joinery. When it's time to enjoy this pipe as a smoking instrument, the stummel can be unscrewed from its "handle" position and united with a precisely hand-cut stem. Though the stem can also be affixed to the other end of the top extension, that portion of the cane mount is not drilled through, making this pipe only smokeable when the stem is directly connected to the stummel. The bottom extension, however, is entirely hollow, allowing for the convenient storage of a tube of pipe cleaners and a lovely, glossy bamboo tamper, both of which are included with this ensemble.

On its own, the pipe itself is every bit as lovely as the sum of its parts. Unmistakably "Jerry," this Poker pairs a tall, architectural bowl with a steady forward cant to an eye-catching, spherical shank. Said shank is fashioned from ebony-hued hardwood, and lined with vulcanite. A silvery metallic band is inlaid to its face, which is joined by the concise, bone-hued stem. The stem's pale coloring stands out strikingly against the stummel which, save for the smooth globe comprising the shank, wears a crisp sandblast for a wealth of tactile appeal — both while smoking, and while serving as the handle of this delightfully unique walking stick.
