About This Pipe
With roots dating back to 1911, Ardor boasts a rich history. After his father founded the Sociedade Rovera workshop in Varese, Italy, young Angelo Rovera knew he wanted to carry on the family's legacy within the pipe industry. With the help of his son, Dorelio, Angelo established Ardor in 1974, and worked to maintain the high level of craftsmanship and quality products he'd been brought up with. After Angelo's passing in 1999, his grandsons, Damiano and Dimitri, took over the business and still run it today. Together, they stoke the flames and keep their family's legacy burning bright.
This bent Dublin is a slightly more reserved offering from the Italian marque, although it still showcases the neoclassic, bowl-centric composition found throughout the rest of their portfolio. The bowl tilts forward, taking on a subtle, fluted flare toward the rim. Behind the bowl, a thick transition introduces a lengthy shank-and-stem combination, which offers plenty of space to comfortably drape a digit. Save for a smooth slip of briar along the bowl's rim, the stummel wears a dark, craggy finish — Ardor's Urano rustication.
