About This Pipe
The light, sparse freckling of birdseye on the surprisingly pale, smooth-polished rim creates an almost ghostly, and certainly rather beautifully misty impression. (The fact that the plane of the very surface is of a wavering form certainly contributes as well.) The rest of the briar proper is even lighter in tone, presenting only one or two minute "beauty marks", and the whole is contrasted perfectly by the dark, finely-patterned cumberland stem.
