About This Pipe

Dunhill's Christmas pipe is an annual release comprising a limited run of specially selected briars, each presented in a book-style case and accompanied by a sterling silver tamper. Drawing inspiration from classic poetry and literature, the Christmas pipe series often unfolds over multiple consecutive years devoted to a single theme, with each annual release exploring specific settings, characters, and narrative motifs. In 2023, Dunhill began a new thematic cycle inspired by The Happy Prince and Other Tales (1888), the celebrated collection by Irish poet, playwright, and novelist Oscar Wilde. For 2025, the narrative of the titular story continues, with this release infused with imagery drawn from the tale's seamstress.

The shape selected for the 2025 Christmas pipe is the marque's classic "13" bent Apple. Rendered here in Group 5 size, the design features an Egg-like bowl that rises from a pronounced heel to a taut rim. An angled transition follows, lifting the shank into a sharp upward curve that flows seamlessly into an arcing tapered stem. At their junction, a broad silver band unites the shank and stem, engraved with the inscription "20 The Seamstress and her little Boy," denoting the pipe's place within the series. Finished in Dunhill's iconic Shell Briar sandblast, each pipe is serialized from a total production of 300 examples — this particular piece being number 15 — and is presented alongside its book-style case and a striking sterling silver tamper fashioned in the form of a needle and thread.
