About This Pipe

The "12" Stack from Dunhill is an old shape: In an earlier form it was the basis of one of the "windshield" pipe designs that Alfred Dunhill himself once marketed as ideal for automobile drivers. This Group 5 version is a more traditional rendition of the shape and perfect for those who appreciate hearty chamber, adding a bit of stoutness as well as an overall increase in scale and chamber to the form when compared to Group 3 and 4 versions. The shank and stem here are sleek and low-lying, keeping the aft end extremely slender and placing most of the visual weight at the bowl, and the stummel is here dressed in the warm County sandblast, complemented well by a cumberland stem.

Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.
