About This Pipe
Dunhill's "13" bent Apple varies across Group sizes, typically taking on stout, plump proportions in smaller Group sizes, whereas larger renditions often present towering, arcing curves much like a bent Egg. However, this Group 5 "13" is a classic Anglo-French bent Apple, the bowed walls of the bowl, pudgy heel, and well-bent shank imbuing this piece with a bevy of supple contours. Additionally, this "13" is dressed in Dunhill's County finish, complete with a silver accent along the junction.
Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.
