About This Pipe
Celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, Dunhill commemorates this defining moment in American history with the release of its limited edition U.S. Declaration of Independence series. Fittingly, a robust Group 5 "04" Bulldog has been selected for the occasion, distinguished by a sterling silver accent engraved with "1776," the year in which the Declaration was adopted by the Continental Congress. Presented in a leather-bound book, the series is accompanied by a bronze tamper inspired by the Statue of Liberty, each plated in 18ct rose gold as a nod to the statue's original copper hue. This particular example is dressed in Dunhill's iconic Chestnut finish.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
