About This Pipe

A tight bundle of energy for such a handsome Danish classic, this Billiard from Tom Eltang pairs an abbreviated oval shank to a substantial, forward-canted bowl offering a good bit of chamber within. Serving to balance the likes of the bowl, an arrow-straight saddle stem makes use of some negative space in profile to offer visual balance to the composition. There's plenty of fine flame of course, not to mention birdseye, accentuated by one of the carver's brilliant contrast stains. I quite enjoy this piece.
