About This Pipe
Mastro Geppetto, a sub-brand of Ser Jacopo, produces handmade pipes with the same playful, inventive shaping as their parent brand, but at a more approachable price point. This paneled bent Dublin is one of the latest offerings from the Italian workshop, and it showcases their penchant for crafting bold, eye-catching pieces.
This is a rather trim, lithe rendition of the bent Dublin shape, with a narrow bowl and an upturned, gracefully bent shank-and-stem arrangement. Eight ridgelines frame the bowl, lending the rim an octagonal shape, and the general form a structured, geometric quality. The stummel wears a smooth, auburn finish, which highlights dense pools of birdseye that swirl around the flanks of the piece. The briar's swirling birdseye makes the perfect complement to the stem, whose pale, opaque ripples suspended in translucent, amber-hued acrylic call to mind an agate gemstone.
