In terms of overall scale, Peterson's "65" bent Billiard is one of the Irish marque's smaller bent Billiard renditions, especially when compared to the likes of their "XL90" and "X220." While in a smaller package, however, the "65" still features Peterson's signature sense of proportions — the transition, shank, and stem base all quite robust in relation to the rest of the piece. Inspired by the madra rua, "red fox," of traditional Irish tales, Peterson's Rua finish is a crimson-and-black, contrast-stained sandblast. The result is a rich, two-toned motif that simultaneously reveals the briar's grain while also providing an intriguing, dramatic contrast between the two separate stains.
