About This Pipe

Widely regarded as one of the most experienced American pipe carvers, Larry Roush is a skilled artisan with three decades of pipe-making expertise. Roush is esteemed for his excellent shaping, quality silver, and finishing work, but is also an expert of pipe engineering, taking extra care to make sure that each pipe smokes perfectly. This bent Billiard is a fine example of Roush's work. Robust and compact, the bowl stands tall on a curved heel, expertly designed to allow the pipe to sit with a backward cant, able to rock back forth on its heel. The shank is quite abbreviated, with a smooth transition. The elegant design is further elevated by silver band hand-carved to resemble a thin circle of rope at the conjunction to a brindled vulcanite stem, downturned for easy clenching. Dressed in a rich black sandblast, the stummel boasts impeccable ring grain that ripples up the bowl, perfectly contrasted by a smooth rim of marbled birdseye.
