About This Pipe
Fashioning pipes under the Il Duca name as an homage to Ferrara's storied dukes, Massimiliano Rimensi draws from Danish, Italian, and Anglo-French traditions, synthesizing these varied influences into a style that is distinctly his own.
This bent Dublin is a compelling example of Rimensi's command of form and line. Gracefully composed, it sets a broad, muscular bowl at the fore of a gently rising shank-and-stem arrangement, the upward sweep lending balance and momentum to the bowl's substantial presence. Thick, flaring walls provide a reassuring heft in hand, tapering toward a smooth, blond rim kissed with rugged plateau. Those dark, organic flecks echo the stummel's crisp, inky sandblast, which brings vivid texture and depth to the briar's grain. A bright giraffe bone accent at the junction offers a striking contrast, its vibrant tones standing out against the shadowed finish.
