About This Pipe
Defined by a Bulldog bowl and round shank, the Rhodesian is a classic shape that's enjoyed a place on traditional pipe charts for well over a century. On Peterson's chart, the age-old form is designated as the "999," showcasing everything pipe smokers love about the traditional shape — hard lines around the bowl; a tapering rim; and a stout, muscular disposition in hand — while also boasting the Irish marque's conventional shaping cues. The bowl tapers above and below the design's defining beadlines, while the rim barely rises above the transition thanks to the extra heft lent to the shank — a signature stylistic element of Peterson.
Similar to the Donegal Rocky series, Peterson's Derry line dresses pipes in a rugged rustication, but instead of a jet-black mouthpiece, the Derry features an acrylic stem of swirling chocolate and caramel tones. Named after the second largest city in Ireland, known for its distinctively hilly topography, this series appropriately dresses the stummel of each piece in a craggy, well-textured rustication with an earthy walnut stain over top. A bright nickel army mount completes the presentation, offering some aesthetic flash and allowing the pipe to be broken down easily for cleaning.

Customer Reviews
Finish is good, stamp isn't great. It's light and probably won't last five years of travel.
The first smoke was PS Luxury Bullseye Flake. One coin rubbed out was a perfect amount for the bowl. The smoke lasted around 45 mins. It smoked just fine, wasn't overly open or restrictive and I only got a small gurgle towards the dottle. My first time with that blends as well, so I can't exactly say the pipe did wonders or was horrible for the blend. The smoke was enjoyable and will be repeated several dozens of times, and then I'll smoke it again. ;-)
All in all, I'd recommend this pipe to a newbie or to a vet. It's a good pipe and only loses a point for the stamp....Read More
