About This Pipe
In the 1960s and 70s, Luigi Radice worked at two of the most acclaimed Italian marques, Castello and Caminetto. After cementing himself as one of Italy's best pipe makers, he began to craft pipes with his sons under the family name. Although Radice often crafts whimsical renditions of the Rhodesian shape, this particular example is quite classic shape-wise. A pert bowl features the Rhodesian's quintessential beadlines, while the rounded shank and tapered stem manifest a sleek, balanced profile. In contrast, the finish is quite unique, as the tapered dome of the bowl is dressed in a blonde smooth finish; the rest of the stummel showcases a rugged rustication, offering a bevy of intriguing colors and textures for one to appreciate.
