About This Pipe
Ser Jacopo was founded in the 1980s by legendary pipe maker Giancarlo Guidi. The workshop cultivated their signature Pesaro style, which delights in dramatic flourishes and whimsical stylings, even more so than the already playful Italian tradition. Guidi passed away in 2012, but Ser Jacopo carries on his legacy. This Rhodesian Sitter embodies a more subtle approach to proportions, while still reflecting the whimsical styling for which the workshop is famous. The bowl features an upright posture with conical walls that are accentuated by twin beadlines. The low-set, languid shank-and-stem combination complements the bowl's design, with its slim proportions providing an appealing contrast. This piece is an excellent choice as a desk pipe, as the flat heel allows it to sit securely without the need for a pipe stand. The stummel is dressed in an earthy rustication, adding a rich texture to the overall composition.
