About This Pipe

The Favorite series from Savinelli was designed to honor and showcase the favorite shapes of famous pipe smokers throughout the ages. The Byron represents the fourteenth addition to the favorite lineup. Savinelli never actually comes out and says which Byron this shape is dedicated to. In college, I was one of Byron Scot's tutors (LA Lakers, two years later) and he didn't smoke a pipe. I can't recall having seen golfing great Byron Nelson with a churchwarden and "Screaming Lord Byron", of David Bowie fame, might have smoked a pipe, but I doubt that tobacco was in it. I guess that leaves us with Lord George Gordon Byron. Having lived from 1788-1824, the shape is probably at least close and while while tangerine and cream swirled acrylic was pretty thin on the ground in the late 18th-to-early 19th century, I am reasonably confident that the effusiveness of color would have pleased the poet.
