About This Pipe
A modestly sized bent Billiard, Savinelli's "601" is a sturdy take on the pipe chart standard, with a wide heel, high-set transition, and slightly tapering bowl. While quite muscular and visually significant in its shaping, the shank of this "601" doesn't over-tighten the transition, extending at a 45 degree angle, almost to the height of the rim, for a comfortable thumb rest between shank and bowl.
Italian for "stone", the Sasso series from Savinelli pairs a number of the Italian marque's signature shapes to stems of marble-hued acrylic, bringing to mind classic sculptures of today and yesteryear. A light blue accent wraps the base of said stem, adding color contrast to the overall piece. The Sasso series pipes are offered in a smooth or rusticated finish, with the latter presented here, providing ample texture to explore.
