About This Pipe
Savinelli's "207" Apple is one of their more traditionally inclined and noticeably English-inspired designs, defined by its broad, plump bowl and an arrow straight shank-and-stem arrangement. It's also one of the few straight Apple shapes offered by the Italian marque, the other primarily being their "202." Where the two versions differ is in their proportions: The "207" tends to be a touch shorter in length but features a larger bowl while the "202" is slightly longer and trimmer, displaying a smaller bowl up front.
Named in honor of the Roman goddess of wisdom and Law and the protector of artists and artisans, Savinelli's Minerva series comprises six different shapes in both smooth and rusticated finishes, all unified by their uniquely expressive stems. These stems are crafted from a deep, rich, brown acrylic, but one that features significant purple undertones, making for a look that changes as the light hits it and continually draws the eye. Further pulling one's focus to the stem are the staggered, silver-toned accents at the stem base, with a larger diameter band near the shank and a thinner one on top. Offered here is the smooth finish, a rich, natural-esque stain that reveals handsome grain and contrasts strikingly against the stem.
