The "701" and "703" shapes are Savinelli's interpretations of the classic Lovat, displaying the same general combination of Billiard bowl, elongated shank, and abbreviated saddle stem, but they vary in their proportions, catering to different pipe smokers' preferences. Seen here is the "703," which increases the overall size of the "701" and adds more muscularity to the stretched shank. With more chamber depth and added overall length, it's an ideal choice for those interested in a larger Lovat, the design doing well to exemplify Savinelli's signature style — maintaining a traditional English aesthetic but dramatizing the proportions.

Since its debut in 2013, Savinelli's Saint Nicholas series has been the brand's most festive annual release, celebrating the Christmas season with a selection of the Italian firm's iconic shapes dressed in distinctive, Yuletide-inspired colorways.
