G. L. Pease - Horizons Flake 2oz
Pretty darn close to EMP in my opinion
To my taste buds this is just like EMP (which I smoke every morning) but perhaps a tiny bit bolder and a more pungent tin note. Nice flake format. I'm smoking a fresh tin and let it dry for about a 1/2 hour before smoking. Easy pleasant smoke and delicious.
G. L. Pease - Quiet Nights 8oz
Whoa!
I'm a relatively new pipe smoker convert from cigars for several years. I've read reviews of different English blends describing a "chocolate" taste which I've tossed aside as creative imaginations. While QN is a generally nice bolder English which I've enjoyed several bowls, I actually recently picked up... you guessed it... chocolate towards the mid-to-end of the bowl. That was wonderfully weird for me. I need to order up more of this.
Presbyterian - Presbyterian 50g
My first review on SP of my favorite
I'm a fairly new pipe smoker and a convert from many years of cigar smoking. My palate is more for English blends (EMP, Good Morning, NC, Maltese Falcon, Quiet Nights, Balkan Supreme) although I occasionally smoke a vapers like Escudo or Capstan Blue. I despise the aromatics I've tried so far (1Q, RLP-6, We Three Kings). Presbyterian, to me, is about as close to an aromatic I'd get though obviously this is not an aromatic. I get a very slight vanilla note and subtle sweetness and after-taste unlike anything else I've tried. This is a delicious and mellow blend that I would smoke any time of day.

Festive Tradition: Cornell & Diehl's Wintertime Reserve 2025- ► Got a tin of Wintertime Reserve Baskerville with a new ebony Peterson Deluxe 2s. The pipe itself may be perfect for me aside from some finish issues... stain dripped into the bowl that I'll have to ingest for a while and a small scuff mark on the outside. That is unfortunate. The tin itself is ok but I would not buy if it became available by itself. Not a whole lot of flavor from my perspective. I'm a fan C&D From Beyond. This is nothing like that of course. Maybe burley-forward blends are just not my game.
