Five Brothers - Five Brothers 1.25oz
Old Timey Smoke
Last year I made the switch to pipe smoking and this was one of the first ones I picked up to try, since it’s what the Amish fellas I worked with smoked back in the day. I was always told it was very strong…well they weren’t lying, this stuff will put hair on your chest! To be honest I found it too strong at first, so I put it away and found some Virginia blends I fell in love with. Having worked my way up to (and running out of ) Sam Gawith’s 1792, and craving some burley strength, I decided to give it another try…man it really knocked my socks off! This stuff is so good, I find it especially perfect for kicking those other maybe weaker blends up a notch. So far I tried it with Orlik golden slices. It was insanely great. Then I blended with some Pirate Kake for a Latakia fix. I’m convinced you could blend this with anything for a nutty nicotine boost. Smoke on its own when you need a real kick in the face. I read that the leaves are still grown in Kentucky and the blend dates back to the 1860s. Very cool if still true. I’d like to find more leaf grown in the states. Five Bros is a man’s tobacco. Makes you wanna get up and work with your hands. And so cheap. No wonder those guys loved it so much!
