Low Country - Guendalose 2oz
An 'all right' blend
My go-to tobaccos are various Virginia blends, especially Virginia flakes. For me this blend lacks the sweetness and richness of my favorite blends. Perhaps the cigar leaf flattens the Virginias a bit, and I note a sour spiciness (the perique and orientals?). That being said, this isn't a bad blend. It's a nice straight forward smoke, just not one that I would rank in my list of favorites.

A little Latakia - very nice
I smoke mainly Virginia blends. I love the room note of the English Latakia blends, but I have never been able to get my palate to appreciate this tobacco. The idea of enhancing a blend with spice and smokiness appeals to me. Lombard does that just right in my opinion. I don't get the full blast of the Latakia. Rather I taste the grassiness of Virginia, the spice of the perique and a subtle note of smoke. The Latakia is very much in the background which, for me, is just the ticket. Lombard won't replace the various Virginia blends that I enjoy, but it will be a nice change of pace for me.
