About This Pipe

Chonowitsch collectors may recognize the name Emil in much the same way that Arita collectors might recognize the name Shizuo. Both are fathers of famous carvers that have their own collectors. While this is only the second Emil Chonowitsch briar to appear on our site, the shape is equally appealing to the first. A perfect bent brandy bowl is dressed in a sandblast that reminds me of early Dunhill patents. Each sharpened ripple of grain was softened over and proves to be very comforting to hold.
