About This Pipe

Now this is a delightful "blast from the past". Styled on old Dunhill "windshield" pipes from 1904 (when Mr. Dunhill filed the patent for the design), the idea was that one needed a little wind protection for ones pipe while driving. Indeed, it was the windshield pipe that started the whole Dunhill pipe involvement. Previously, Dunhill had been in the carriage trade and was evolving that business to serve the then new motorcar business. Of course, the original windshield pipe would not have been dressed in the modern-era, high contrast Amber Root stain (let's hear it for the "Good new days"!).
