La Aroma de Cuba was originally a Cuban brand of cigars that was established in the latter half of the 1880s and grew to prominence as one of the early favorites of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. In the early 2000s, La Aroma de Cuba was revived as a Nicaraguan brand by Jose "Pepin" Garcia, a master blender with a long history as the head of My Father cigars. Garcia's experience in blending Cuban cigars has shaped the company into a prolific producer of high-quality Cuban-esque bends steeped in rich tradition. Habano Reserve is produced by the Garcia family at their My Father Cigars factory in Nicaragua. It features Nicaraguan filler and binder from farms located throughout Estelí, Jalapa and Namanji, and an Ecuadorian-Habano wrapper. This cigar will not be available for individual purchase until the end of 2026, so this sampler is the only way to try the Habano Reserve in the El Jefe vitola. Connecticut El Jefe is a milder cigar compared to many of the brand's other offerings, showcasing an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper, with Nicaraguan binder and fillers.
