About This Cigar
For decades, cigar blenders and factories struggled to find Dominican leaf that was suitable for cigar wrappers, but that precedent changed thanks to Arturo Fuente: Founded in 1912, Arturo Fuente eventually developed a means of cultivating Dominican tobacco that fit the exacting requirements demanded of wrapper leaf, and the illustrious Fuente Fuente OpusX series was born — the first ever Dominican puro. Supported by the experience and expertise learned from three generations of dedicated cigar blending and tobacco cultivation, Fuente Fuente OpusX cigars represent Arturo Fuente's most prestigious offerings, and many avid connoisseurs consider them Holy Grails within the cigar industry. Crafted in limited quantities and comprising only the finest Dominican tobacco available, OpusX cigars are an experience unto themselves.
The Opus X Lost City blend is one of the Opus line's most exclusive blends, finding its origins in an unlikely meeting between Carlito Fuente and filmmaker Andy Garcia. Garcia, while filming the 2005 film The Lost City, needed tobacco plants as a backdrop, finding himself at Chateau de la Fuente just before harvest. Though these plants were to be harvested, Carlito offered to plant a few acres of tobacco that would grow out over the proceeding months, allowing Garcia to shoot his scenes in the summer. The resulting plants came to full maturity much later than other plants in Fuente's crop, and they were set away to age for five years before being included in the original release of Lost City cigars. A sophisticated, medium-full blend, Lost City is an extremely rare release from Fuente, boasting expressive packaging and unparalleled flavor.
